I am making a book in another language, can I use international symbols and characters?
At this time we do not support international characters and symbols, but we hope to implement this in the future.
Back to topWhat internet browser should I be using to run the Mixbook Editor?
Our recommendations for browsers that will optimize the performance of the Mixbook Editor are: Firefox 1.5. 2.0 or 3.0, Internet Explorer 6 or 7, and Safari 2.0. We do not recommend AOL's web browser to run our online software.
Back to topWhat does the yellow warning symbol on some of my photos or stickers mean?
The yellow warning symbol indicates that the photo or sticker is of low resolution and may print blurry or pixellated due to its small size. To avoid this, either resize the photo/sticker to be smaller or upload another photo/sticker of a higher resolution.
Back to topHow do I add text to my book?
To add text to your book, click on the "Add Text Box" button in the upper right hand corner of the editor.
Back to topMy spine text is not showing up.
Please click on the text on the spine of your book, and check if the font color of your spine text is close to the background color of the cover. If the font color of your spine text is too close to the color of the cover, it may not be visible in print. You can change the color of the text by clicking on the color swatch. Please note that spine text can only be printed on hardcover books.
Back to topHow do I copy and paste text from another document to my book?
To copy text, click on the Layouts tab and then click the yellow "Add Text Box" button - then you can copy your text from your word document into the box by highlighting the text and then either right-clicking your mouse or using the shortcut keys CTRL+C to copy and CTRL+V to paste the text into the text box.
Back to topWhat does the red X on my page mean?
The red X means that you have removed that page from the book - but that it cannot be completely deleted because it is associated with another page in a spread. This page will appear blank in your book unless you place content there. To completely delete the page you need to delete both pages in the two-page spread. If the last page in your book is removed - for example, page 21 in a book with 20 pages - the page will not be counted toward the final book price in checkout.

Back to topWhy is there a gray shadow in the middle of my book in the preview and in the Mixbook Editor?
This gray shadow is an effect that we apply to give the book a more three-dimensional look online. This will not end up in the printed version of your book.
